Obituary of Daniel "Dan" Lee Hollis

Daniel Lee “Dan” Hollis, age 67, longtime resident of Murfreesboro, died March 8 at St. Thomas Rutherford. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 47 years, Connie Hollis, adoring daughters, Shan (Greg) Fite of Murfreesboro and Sandi (John) Hyde of Brentwood, and the lights of his life, grandsons, Connor and Tanner Fite. Dan was a native of Indiana, a proud and decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, and retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigation Division after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Tavie Hollis, and sister, Marybeth Hollis. Survivors include brothers, Ted, Ron, and Garry Hollis, sister, Karen Wolfe, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, there will be no memorial service. The family would like to thank the Critical Care Nurses, JC, Dustin, and Tia for their unwavering care and support. Dan was a true hero in many ways.
