Like so many students from her 27 years at South Point High Scholl, Mrs. Ritchie taught me more than Speech and Journalism. She taught me self respect, self confidence and belief and respect in my fellow human beings. This world is better because she was here. In your loss, know that we have all benefited from her teachings. Bless you

Zane and family. I was so saddened to hear about Annette. My memories of her are so dear, especially when we were college room mates. She was a very special lady and judging from all the messages you have received, an awfully lot of people felt the same way. You and all your family have our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sympathy during this most difficult time.

To Annette's family: I am so sorry for your loss. Annette was my teacher back in the 70's and I also had the pleasure of working with her as a teacher at SPHS. We all enjoyed her sharing her paintings and her voice. She will be missed.

Dear Mr. Zane Ritchie and Family: I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Ritchie. Yet we are confident in knowing that being absent in the body, she is present with the Lord. Remember weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning. When all of God’s children shall rise again and be with the Lord. Mrs. Ritchie was a wonderful teacher who taught me at South Point High School. Also Mr. Ritchie, your mother and father were very good and faithful friends with my great aunt, Mrs. Vernon Howard, whom they visited often. My prayers and my thoughts are with you all. May you feel the strength of God during a time as this. Yours in Christ, Rev. Gary L. Edwards Huntington, West Virginia

She was a joy and a delight as a friend, exercise comrade, fellow painter and role model. I will miss her kind heart and gentle soul much more than these few words can say. It would seem that God needed another lovely angel in his home.
