Obituary of Dorothy A Feyka

FEYKA, DOROTHY A. (VECCHARELLA) Age 85, of Mars, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 2. She was born in Mars, PA on March 12, 1931. She was the loving and attentive daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Veccharella; Loving sister of the late Ruth Bichey and the late Edward (survived by Mary) Veccharella. Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was married to the late Andrew Feyka for 27 years and had two children, Ruth (Feyka) Hewitt and Joe Feyka. Dorothy enjoyed the opportunity that came with Andy’s career as a Mechanical Engineer. They lived in NYC, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte and Nashville. A true lover of fashion, she worked in various retail positions in Pittsburgh at Gimbells, in NYC at Saks Fifth Avenue and in Cleveland at The May Company, as an Assistant-Buyer. Dorothy loved her children and enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Ryan and Andy and Abby and her first great-granddaughter Lily Ann; also survived by many relatives, friends and family in PA, GA, FLA and TN. She was an avid Auburn football fan, loved reading, cooking, baking and enjoying Italian cuisine. Some of her other hobbies included ceramics, decorating, gardening and watching Dancing with the Stars. She loved listening to a variety of music that included Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Rod Stewart and spiritual music. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed. Friends and family to be received on September 5th from 11 – 1 and the service will be held at 1 PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
