Clifford Lane “Cliff” Writtenberry age 65, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016.
He was born in Sparta, Tennessee but lived in Florida until 1996 when he moved to Murfreesboro to be closer to his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs, Pepper and Max. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing the guitar and growing plants.
With a degree in horticulture, he had been an employee of Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala, Florida. With his last position as a landcape supervisor at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Preceded in death by son Chris Writtenberry, daughter Kathy Writtenberry, sister Linda Faye Bumbalough, brothers Thomas and Ernest Writtenberry,Jr., parents Ernest and Irene Writtenberry.
Survived by wife Peggy Knudsen Writtenberry, grandchildren Trenton Derting, Angel Writtenberry and Chris Writtenberry, James and Nicholas Writtenberry; sisters Reba (Spencer) Young, Patricia (Steve) Crawford, brothers Donald (Melba) Rittenberry and Frank Writtenberry, sister-in-law Kathleen Writtenberry, sister-in-law Dee (Ralph) Van Riper and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2016 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 am until service time. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
