LEO FRANKLIN “FRANK” EVANS
Saturday, February 4 at home in Murfreesboro. Native of central Ohio. Father, Emmett Evans; mother, Madge (Adkins) Evans Kinser; stepfather, Ernest Kinser. Graduated from Dublin High School, Dublin, Ohio in 1964.
Predeceased by wife of 39 years, Ruth (Van Wagner) Evans; beloved aunt and uncle, Hallie and Ova McComis, Ohio; brother, Ronald; sister-in-law Barbara; and niece, Teresa, Florida.
Survived by wife Susan (Williard) Evans; son, Michael Lee Evans; daughter-in-law, Asuka; grandchildren, Mariko and Gentaro; granddaughters, Amber, Shelbyville, Brittany and Megan, Christiana; son, Cory Andrew Evans, Nashville, grandson Andrew, Florida; three great-grandchildren. Nephew, Marty Evans, Florida; niece, Lori Evans-Jones, Ohio; Second family, Major Paul and Emily Whisman; grandsons, Elijah, Julian, Xavier and Dakota, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Gregg (Jan) Williard, Wisconsin and Michael Williard, Illinois; God-daughter, Kellee (Ben) Wright, Lebanon; grand god-daughter, Jorden (Tyler) McDonald, Murfreesboro.
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Pacific Fleet, serving four tours of duty during the Vietnam War, Frank rose to the rank of E-9 Machinists Mate Master Chief Petty Officer. He retired in 2006 after 20 years from a second career with the U.S. Veterans Administration Hospitals in Murfreesboro and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Frank was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in June 2014.
Remains will be interred at sea by the U.S. Navy. A memorial service with full military honors befitting his honorable military career will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Murfreesboro Funeral Home. A guestbook is available at www.murfreesborofuneralhome.com
