Obituary of Harold D. Davenport
Dr. Harold Douglas Davenport age 86 of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday November 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Frank Davenport and Viola Webb Davenport. He is also preceded by his wife; Martha Carolyn Bennett Davenport.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his children; John Davenport of Florida, Charles Davenport of Murfreesboro, Karen (Charles) Atnip of Mt. Pleasant, and his grandchildren; Sarah (Kyle) Murphy, Matthew (Nancy M.) Davenport, Lindsey Davenport, Kimberly Davenport, John (Tiffany) Davenport, Amy Atnip, Andrew Atnip, Robert Atnip, Dylan Atnip, Dana Atnip and Katherine Davenport. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; Alyssa Davenport, Allyn Davenport, Honna Khounesavady, Lena Davenport and Halayna Davenport.
Dr. Davenport was an U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Dr. Davenport was retired from Middle Tennessee State University, and was a Fulbright scholar at University of Tennessee Knoxville.. These are just a few of his many academic accomplishments. Visitation with the Davenport family will be Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
