Obituary of Gerald Blanks Gaither
Gerald Blanks Gaither age 72 of Bell Buckle, former resident of Barlett, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. A native of Cannon County, he was the son of the late Sam Blanks and Dewey King Gaither. He is also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law; Glenda and Bud Mankin, and his brother; Ricky Gaither.
Mr. Gaither is survived by his daughters; Jana (Charlie) Anderson of Bell Buckle, JoEllen (Lenny) Winters of Barlett and 4 grandchildren who he loved spending time with, Hunter Winters, Kylie Winters, Michael Gaither Anderson and Laura Marie “Cricket” Anderson. He is also survived by two brothers; Harold (Eloise) Gaither of Midland and Tommy (Kim) Gaither of Murfreesboro.
Mr. Gaither was a member of New Zion Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Army serving as a Drill Sergeant. He retired after 35 years from State Farm Insurance as a Field Under Writer and was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 11:00AM until time of service at 1:00PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Brother Cory Bransford and Brother Bill Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Smotherman Cemetery in the Midland Community with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Family request that donations to be made in honor of Gerald to St. Jude in Memphis or to the children’s ministry at New Zion Church of Christ. Murfreesboro Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gaither family.
