Obituary of Roy Stuart Stone
Roy Stuart Stone, age 74 of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019.
Roy was born November 14, 1944 in Portland, Dorset, England.
Preceded in death by father Harold Stone, mother Jessie Attwoll Stone and sister Faye Jackson.
Survived by wife of 10 years, Sherrie Brown Stone, children Phillippa Stone (partner Staurt Kenworthy), and Debbie (Dave) Cripps, grandsons James and Chris McQuillan, stepdaughter Jill (Carey) Frost, step granddaughter Kelly Frost and sister-in-law Teresa Brown.
He spent 27 years in the Royal Air Force, retiring as a Wing Commander. After retiring from the RAF, Roy served as Director of Immigration Services at Heathrow Airport in England. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering at Bristol University in England and his Master’s Degree in Economics at Harvard in Boston.
Roy was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was well known for his sharp wit and his love of laughter, rugby and animals of all kinds. He was a passionate gardener and loved roses. Roy was a true athlete and played rugby and boxed for the RAF. He always found time for others, especially those in need.
