Brian was such an incredible guy. Feared on the wrestling mat, and loved off of it. I learned a lot being on his team as did all of our teammates. He will be missed. My prayers go out to the family. May God continue to be with you all during these difficult times.

We watched Brian dominate the wrestling mat and inspire our sons and all other team members as well as opponents! What an incredible athlete and determined young man with a warrior’s heart! We are so saddened for his wife and daughters, parents, brother, and all other family and friends!! May your hearts be comforted with God’s peace and presence in the days ahead.

Brian has always had and forever will have a special place in our hearts. He is a special mixture of his two awesome parents. Our favorite memory of Brian is when our Brian took him out to collect for his newspapers, he came back to the car and a guy didn’t give him his money. Our Brian wasn’t having that! He told the guy what a great kid Brian was and shamed him into giving Brian the money. Both Brians loved that! We have loved watching Brian’s life through the years. We will always remember him. Our sincerest sympathy to all who loved him.

Met Brian over 15years ago... He was my neighbor,,a figure I looked up to as a young boy and became a brother at heart.. we shared tons of memories together, good and bad,, he even gave my son his very first haircut at he and his wife's home on the back porch of the house.. words DNT express the void that each and every person he became known too will now have inside they're hearts.... A truly genuine good hearted man,and a brother to me left us before the good Lord should have taken him.. I will forever love and miss u my Friend,,rest easy brother. I'll see u again! My heart and prayers go out to the Guthrie family with all sincerity..

I met you the first day of 7th grade at Central Middle. I can still see you eating that goldfish in the auditorium. I thought, oh my, I am not going to survive middle school. Little did I know you would become such a sweet friend with the biggest heart. Over the years you did your best to talk me about out trouble; I didn't listen much. I remember you stopping by mom and dads in your white truck after you got that HUGE tattoo on your thigh and I wish I still had the Iowa wrestling shirt you brought me back from camp. You are the coolest, toughest, kind hearted person I have ever known. Its been a long time since the fun times together but I know we will hang out again one day. Prayers for your family brother!!!

Brian, you were one of the best wrestlers to ever step foot on a mat. You pushed everyone else on the team to be better. Your intensity and drive were unmatched. Some of my fondest memories were of those many matches and practices together. I am saddened to hear of your passing and wish to express my sincerest condolences to your family. God bless you all.
