Obituary of Anitra Joy Methvin
Anitra Joy Methvin, 54, of Rockvale, TN, passed away on June 25, 2019 in she and her husband’s home.
Funeral service will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on July 3, 2019 at 11:30 am with Cliff Sharp of Greenhouse Ministries officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN, 37221. Visitation will be held prior at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on July 3, 2019 at 9:00 am until 11:30 am in the morning at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
Anitra was born in Nashville, TN to Tommy Floyd and Diane Floyd on May 25, 1965. She went to high school at John Overton High School and graduated in 1983. She went on to earn an associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Nashville Technical College. She worked as an advertisement executive, journalist for the U.S. Naval Reserves, and home maker for her family for over 26 years. While in the reserves she was promoted to the rank of petty officer second class “JO2.” She received the Navy Achievement Medal and the Meritorious Service Award while in the reserves. She enjoyed collectables such as her horse models, owls, and furby collections along with caring for her beloved pets. She was also involved in volunteer work for Greenhouse Ministries of Murfreesboro, TN. She was a loving and caring woman, a wife of 26yrs and a mother of 25 yrs. She will be missed forever.
Anitra is survived by her husband, Robert C. Methvin, of Rockvale, TN, son, Connor L. Methvin, of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter, Carlynne E. Methvin, of Rockvale, TN, and brother, Jesse Floyd (Linda), of Nashville, TN. She is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Floyd, and mother, Diane Floyd, of Nashville, TN.
