She was born to James and Nancy Morgan in Wendover, KY and attended school in Berea, KY. She later moved to Cincinnati OH where she worked in a factory making parachutes for bombs during World War II. It was in Cincinnati that she met her beloved husband Tom who soon joined the Navy and was sent abroad to join in the war efforts. Their love was a romance that was never questioned and soon Tom sent for her to join him in California to be married when she arrived. Yvonne traveled by train across country to San Francisco where Tom proposed and they rode by bus to Yuma, AZ (where there was no waiting period) to be married on October 16, 1944. He was shipped out just a few days after their marriage. Yvonne found a job and a tiny apartment in San Francisco while she waited for her love to return. Their life in San Francisco began with a son (Tom) and a few years later their daughter (Bonny) shortly thereafter and they later moved to South San Francisco, San Jose, CA and Scottsburg, IN until 1985 when they relocated to Readyville, TN. Her life work was being the most loving wife and mother possible. For this she was a great success.
Her radiant smile and welcoming home were loved and enjoyed by anyone who knew her. She would always have a fresh baked pie or cake hoping someone would visit to play a game with she and Tom. Her competitive nature was known by anyone willing to visit and play a game of cards or Aggravation with her. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved spending time with her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Tom Cull, three brothers, Burgoyne Morgan, Douglas Morgan, Bret Morgan and four sisters, Madelon Rector, Gladys Kiviniemi, Wilma Gay and Alma Hoard.
After a short illness with Congestive Heart Failure, Yvonne passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on October 13, 2019. Yvonne and Tom were able to spend their 75th wedding anniversary together in Heaven on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
