Obituary of Orlando Rafael Smith

Orlando Rafael Smith, age 56 of Murfreesboro, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 following a long term of illnesses.
He was born to the late Georgia Ella McMurray on May 25, 1963. Orlando accepted Christ at a young age through the Hamilton Drive Church of Christ. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County, Murfreesboro, TN. A graduate of Holloway High School in 1982. Orlando loves to watch TV. His favorite shows were Good Times, Andy Griffith, and WWE Wrestling. In his earlier years, Orlando enjoyed fishing and last but not least, he loved to eat.
Orlando is survived by his loving family, sisters; Marion Yvonne Smith, Valencia (Carl) Swader, brothers; Mickael (LaHoma) Smith, and Dedrick (Trish) McMurray.
The glue that continues to hold our family together, Lula (James) King, Henry (Lula Belle) Miller, and Peggy (Thomas) White, we love your all.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Georgia McMurray, father; William Joyce, and sister; Deborah Denise Smith, uncles; James E. Smith, Robert L. Smith, Mose Smith Jr. Orlando had a host of nieces and nephews to whom he loved dearly and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to thanks the following groups and facilities for all their help and support with our loved one throughout the years of his life, Miss Jenna Brent, Care Coordinator with Choices, Senior Solutions Home Health Care, NHC Healthcare Facility, TriStar Wound Care, Dr. McCollum Primary care Physician, South East Transit Transportation Group, and Saint Thomas Rutherford. The family would like to thank the staff of Murfreesboro Funeral Home for all your support. Even though a limb has fallen from our family tree, Orlando’s soul is at rest and his mind is at ease, continue traditions, no matter how small, remember Orlando loved us all.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10 am – 11 am with services to follow at 11am in the chapel. Interment will be at Lovvorn Cemetery with Pastor John Smalls officiating.
