Obituary of Sara Jean Grooms Henry

We are heartbroken to report the world lost Sara Jean Grooms Henry (43) on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Sara was born on September 20, 1977 in Akron, Ohio to Ed and Sandy Grooms. She is survived by her two children, Cassandra and Zoey Henry (Murfreesboro, TN); by her parents Edgar and Sandra Grooms (Murfreesboro, TN); her siblings, Lance Grooms (Austin, TX), Jennifer (Grooms) Copp (Murfreesboro, TN), Matthew Grooms (Austin, TX); her in-laws Carolyn and Bobby Henry, Sr. (Bon Aqua, TN) and Robin and Michael Betts (Bon Aqua, TN); her pets Nala (cat) and Honey Bear (dog). She is predeceased by her husband Joey Henry (Bobby Joe Henry, Jr), and her pets Sampson, Daisy, Holly and Meiko. Sara lived in many places throughout her life–Ohio, Iowa, Quebec, Oklahoma, Colorado and Alabama, and she has been a resident of Murfreesboro, TN for the past 19 years. Sara loved to learn and graduated from Colorado State University with a double major. She moved to Tennessee to be closer to family in 2001. Sara bought her own home shortly thereafter and met Joey, the love of her life, while camping with friends. Sara and Joey married August 19th, 2004, and the couple was blessed with their long prayed for daughters, Cassie and Zoey, in April of 2016. Tragically, Joey passed away in October of 2016, and although Sara was surrounded by family, friends and loved ones to help support her girls, her strength was rooted in her faith and trust that God would sustain her through their loss. Although Sara might have appeared to be a quiet woman to some, she had an adventurous spirit. She loved anything to do with the mountains, the beach, and traveling–she even backpacked (on her own) through Europe after college. She had a huge heart for animals and loved rescuing and pampering her cherished fur babies. Besides her devotion to raising her daughters, Sara loved gardening, canning veggies, homemade sauces and jams, cross stitching, reading, attending concerts, camping and learning–her latest interest was learning to become a beekeeper, and she had many exciting plans for the future. Sara had been a paralegal with two different firms in Murfreesboro before she became a licensed massage therapist and proudly owned her own business Aura Salon and Spa. Sara was currently working at What’s New Salon in Murfreesboro, TN, and had many beloved coworkers and clients throughout the years. Sara began attending World Outreach Church in 2004. She loved her church family and attended several small groups over the years. She also donated to Cross International and Save the Storks. We know Sara loved the Lord fully. She led her life with purpose and intentionally strived to love and support as many people as possible. Sara was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend. All of us who loved her will feel her loss from our lives in SO many ways. She will be dearly missed until we see her again with Jesus. We find comfort from the words of the Apostle Paul… “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35 In an effort to make sure everyone can attend safely, please join us for a Celebration of Life Service on June 19, 2021 at World Outreach Church’s All Nations Sanctuary at 10 AM.
