Joe Benjamin Fowler, 79 of Christiana, TN, son of William Detrick and Ruth Sprouse Fowler, left this earth to join the Heavenly Choir on May 4, 2021... Joe was born and raised in Asheville, NC where he was a well known Southern Gospel Bass Singer and had many appreciated fans. He sang with groups such as the Disciples, the Southerners, the Seekers, the Resurrection Singers, The Gerald Payne Family, Squire Parsons and Redeemed....and helped other groups as needed...
He later became a part of the Smokey Mountain Jubilee for 14 years where he sang bass in the Jubilee Qt and sang back up...he enjoyed doing the show and loved living in Pigeon Forge... Our Family made so many memories there...it will always be special to all of us...
Later, after moving to Christiana Joe sang with the Classic Four, then the Master's Four which he was still a part of....he loved singing so much, he met so many great people and made so many good friends.... He had over 50 years of singing God's Praises!!! But you could say all his life...
Joe was married to Marcia King Fowler of Asheville, they had 3 sons, Timothy Scott (Lori), Joe Benjamin II (Jamie), and Brad Eugene (Joanna), he had 7 grandsons, Nick, Caleb, Ethan, Reed, AndyBo, Brody and Michael and 1 granddaughter Hailey... One great grandson Gavin (and 1 on the way) Joe Loved and was very proud of his family~~~
Joe was blessed with 6 siblings, Fred, Betty (Fletcher), Jack, Jeanette (Neighbors), Margaret (Repass) and Ruby (Wright). and several beloved nieces an nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins....
Joe was well known for his sense of humor...and loved by many~~~ He loved going to the Dirt Track Races when he had a weekend off from singing. He is and will be missed by many~~~
There will be a Celebration of Life for Joe on June 19th at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home from 2-6pm drop by or come and stay...everyone is welcome to come and sing or talk about Joe...let's let him know how much he is loved~~~
