Obituary of Patricia Ellis Upton

Patricia Ellis Upton passed into heaven Tuesday September 14, 2021 just days after her 89th birthday. She was born in Toccoa, GA on September 8, 1932 to Don and Sue Langford, the baby of the family with 3 older siblings. As a child, she attended Sunshine Methodist Church where she originally asked the Lord to be her Savior. She met the love of her life, Raymond Upton, shortly after graduating High School, whom she married and spent 49 wonderful years with. Pat was a hardworking Wife and Mom of a daughter and 2 bonus sons, working full time while assisting her husband run his self-employed business. Pat loved attending church, she served the Lord at a few different churches along the way as she moved from Georgia to Mt Juliet and eventually landing in Murfreesboro at Franklin Road Baptist and Temple Baptist Church. She was a prayer warrior, a talented Christian song writer, a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Her love for God and her family shown through her life and was a wonderful testament to all that knew her.
Her Godly example will live on in the lives of her Daughter - Patti (Jerry) Jenkins of Murfreesboro, TN, Bonus Sons - Robert Upton of Conyers, GA and Roger (Linda) Upton of Atlanta, GA, Bonus Daughter - Tina Upton of Shelbyville, TN, Grandchildren - Cyndi Upton of Conyers, GA, Teri (Allen) Gray of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Robby (Kay) Upton of Conyers, GA, Bryant (Henry) Hoyle of Atlanta, GA, Lindsay (Eric) Garlinghouse of Atlanta, GA, Deana (Rob) Francois of Murfreesboro, TN & Lauren (Matt) McBride of Murfreesboro, TN and multiple Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She is Proceeded in Death by her Husband – Raymond Robert Upton, Parents – Don and Sue Langford, Brothers - Pete Langford and Leroy Lanford, Sister - Donna Sue Busch
Visitation for Patricia will be held from 11a – 1p on Saturday August 18th at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Funeral directly after the visitation and burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family requests that everyone please take the proper precautions in the wake of Covid-19.
The family would also like to give a special thank you the staff of Celebration Way Assisted Living Facility for the excellent care they provided Patricia prior to her death.
