Obituary of Karen Melanie Wilkerson

Karen Melanie Wilkerson, age 49, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away unexpectedly the evening of Tuesday, January 24, 2023. She was born August 19, 1973, in Saint Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Lester “Jeff” Wilkerson; daughters Rosemary Grace Wilkerson and Kaitlyn Adelle Wilkerson, along with their two dogs, Lovie and Dante; parents Mary and Ronald “Ron” Lory; brother Keith Lory all of Murfreesboro; sister Susan (Andy) Rutledge of Shelbyville; mother-in-law Wanda Wilkerson of Cookeville; brothers-in-law Jack Wilkerson and Scott Wilkerson, both of Cookeville. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Karen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt who loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, planting, shopping at the farmers market, travelling, spending time at the beach, reading, and watching her beloved St Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs. She was a member of New Vision Baptist Church, where she also taught Sunday School. Her family takes great solace in knowing that she is their guardian angel in heaven and watching over them. Visitation with the family will be 4:00-8:00pm Tuesday, January 31, 2023 and 10:00-11:30 am Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:30 Wednesday, February 1. 2023 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Interment will follow 2:00pm Wednesday at Middle Tennessee Veteran Cemetery.
