William Dale McElroy, age 74 of Christiana, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
He was born October 27, 1948, in Woodbury, TN to the late William and Jessi Lyon McElroy.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, William E. McElroy, and brother, Gene McElroy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Thelma McElroy; son, Jeff (Monica) McElroy; daughters, Melissa (Todd) Sparks; Becky (Barry) Gregory; grandchildren, Avery Sparks; Sophie Sparks; Parker Sparks; Cameron Potts; Alyssa Gunn; brother, Carl (Betty) McElroy; and his beloved cats, Sweet Pea and Blue.
William served in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the purple heart. He was an avid gardener and loved his family dearly.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 9am – 11am with service to follow at 11am in the chapel. Interment will follow at 2pm at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
