Obituary of Frances Peer

Frances Peer, age 94, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, formerly of Linn County, MO passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012, in Murfreesboro. She was born in Spickard, MO on August 28, 1917. She was the second child born to Howard and Stella Cooper. Mrs. Peer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. After teaching in Illinois, she was a secondary teacher in several Linn County Schools. She was a member of the Park Baptist Church in Brookfield, MO before moving to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she was a member of the Barfield Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Laclede PEO Chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Peer, parents, brother, Howard Paul Cooper and her sister, Opal Spriggs. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Gonzalez and husband, Floyd of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Glenn Gonzalez and wife, Michelle of Murfreesboro and Susan Buback and husband, Stephen of Allen, TX; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Kate Buback and Nathan Gonzalez; one sister, Norma Humm of Moro, Illinois; and eight nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO with Rev. David Blakely officiating. Burial will be in Laclede Cemetery in Laclede, MO. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
