AUNT WILMA WAS ALWAYS A GREAT JUDGE OF CHARACTER! She was slight of stature but never slight in her love for the Lord and devotion to her family. Many lessons in my life were learned because of the wisdom of this great teacher. Thank you, Aunt Wilma for allowing me to be part of your family. We cherish your memory and pledge to pursue noble goals. Robin Neeld

THank you so much to you all for your fond memories of my parents. I love to hear stories of their lives and the people they have touched. Natalie and I are thinking about getting one of these new schools under construction named after my parents seeing as how they were the first husband and wife principal team in Hillsborough County. If anyone can help us with that I would appreciate it.

My husband and Ken Hurst were friends for many years, having met at Hillsborough High School in the 40's. I met Wilma when she came into the dental office where I worked. One word led to another, and soon we realized that we had a connection and became fast friends. Wilma was an outstanding educator, and always up-to-the minute on "what's what" and "who's who". She was a fine LADY, and I will miss her.

Mrs. Hurst was my son Dane's kindergarten teacher at Lake Carroll Baptist 10 years ago. We have never forgotten her. She was tough, yet caring and we have always felt she was instrumental in building a solid educational foundation for our son. How many children she must have touched in her long career. What a wonderful legacy to leave behind! God Bless you and your family.

Mrs. Hurst was Dean of Girls when I attended Memorial Jr. High School in the late 60's. She was a dedicated professional that earned the trust and respect of both staff and students. Schools today need more teachers and staff with the standards and professionalism of Wilma Hurst. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Hurst Family at this difficult time. I remember Mrs. Hurst during my years as a student @ Memorial Junior High in Tampa during the late 60's. She was well liked & respected there by the majority of students. She had a care & concern for the students well being. Teachers & Leadership like hers are very rare nowadays. God Bless All of You with His Strength & Peace.

Mrs. Hurst was a teacher at Forest Hills Baptist School when my son, Christopher, was a student there. She had quite an impact on all of her students and fellow co-teachers. She would be proud to know that my son still speaks fondly of her, and she would be equally as proud, that he has become a doctor. I will always remember her as an inspiration and a shining star for all that came into contact with her. Unfortunately, they don't make them like her anymore. To her son, Kenneth. She spoke of you so often I felt like I knew you. She was so proud of you and she didn't hesitate to let anyone you know how much you meant to her and your Dad. May she rest in peace.

Although slight in stature, Mrs Hurst was a giant in the eyes of her students and collegues. I knew her during my years at Memorial Junior High School, where, as Dean of Women, Mrs Hurst was highly respected by everyone that had the pleasure to know and work beside her. The fact that my mother and she became fast friends outside of school circles made things just a little tougher for my sister and me, we really had to fly right. Tough cookie she was, but always fair in her wisdom. She was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
