Obituary of Ernestine Shirley Dees

Ernestine L. Shepard Shirley Dees, 88, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at her residence. She was born on November 2, 1919 in Kennett, MO and was the daughter of John Edward Shepard and Nora Jane (Brannon) Shepard. She was united in marriage to James Shirley in 1942 and to this union two children were born. She was united in marriage to Herbert Dees in 1952 and had a very happy marriage until his death in 1982. Ernestine was baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses on September 19, 1961. She loved her family and friends and if she was visiting at our door to discuss the bible or if you came to her home she always made you welcome. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora Shepard, James Shirley 1980 and Herbert in 1982; two brothers, Doyle Shepard and Bill Shepard; two sisters, Marie Milburn and Betty Ellen Carver; a grandson, Shane Shirley; and a granddaughter, Micaela Briseno. She is survived by her son, Jimmie William Shirley (Sue) of Arnold MO; her daughter, Judy Kay Briseno (Art) of Murfreesboro; a sister, Della Wilburn of Turlock, CA; her brother, Melvin Shepard (Enola) of Piggott, AR; her grandchildren, Matthew Briseno, Jason Shirley, Cindy Graves, Wendy Franklin, Shannon Pulliam; and thirteen great-grandchildren along with a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott, AR with Steven Oliver officiating. Burial to follow at Little Flock Cemetery in Piggott, AR.
