Ricky's passing touched a lot of people but his life touched even more. I'll miss his wit and wisdom, as well as his keen appreciation for the outdoors. He was my go-to guy for advice on building projects because he could do it all and do it well. His knowledge about how the earth worked was astounding, from geology to carpentry, from politics to astronomy. He never stopped learning. He was truly a friend worth having and I will miss him every day. My sincere condolences to Tommy, Harold, Gerald and all the Gaithers, as well as his wife Kathy and her family. We all lost one of the best.

Kathy, I am so sorry for your loss! I have been through that twice with my father and brother, where you never got to say goodbye. It is heart wrenching. You go days thinking of the things you never had the chance to say. All I can say is enjoy the wonderful memories you made with Rick. Let family and friends surround you with love and support. But take the alone time to grieve. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you, Karen Marcin & family
