John D. Byous, 81 of Rockvale passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Byous was a Mastor Mason for 50 plus years of the Grand Lodge of Texas City, Texas and was a member of Rockvale Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. While in the Navy he was honored with the Victory World War II medal.
Mr. Byous was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Gladys Byous. He is survived by his wife, June Byous of Rockvale; 2 daughters, Alice (Jim) Fernie of Texas and Jan (Mark) Watson of Rockvale; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. A private graveside will be held. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pk., Ste 216 Nashville, TN 37215.
