Obituary of Bessie Gibson

Bessie Gibson, 62, of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 at her home under the loving care of her family and Alive Hospice. A native and life long resident of Rutherford County, Mrs. Gibson attended Crescent Church of Christ. She was employed for 22 years with Murfree, Cope, Hudson, Scarlett, and Reed Attorneys at Law and was currently working with Tri Star Title Company as a Mortgage Closer.
Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kelly Lee Sr. and Nannie Ada Lee and her beloved son Kelly Faulkner who passed away in 1997. After her courageous battle with cancer she is survived by her husband, Randy Gibson of Murfreesboro; daughter, Melinda (Luke) Durben of Murfreesboro; son Tracy (Sharon) Faulkner of Smyrna; daughters, Suzanne Gibson of Murfreesboro; Janet Gibson of Nashville; and Julie Brown of Lawrenceburg; sister, Peggy Richards of Nashville; brother, Robert K. Lee Jr. of Smyrna; 6 grandchildren, Danielle and Alexa Durben, Madisan and Rob Faulkner, Abby and John Brown; niece Shannon (Chris) Helton of Smyrna.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Lewis and Bro. Donnie Frensley officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are Bob Scovill, Scott Mason, Darrell Scarlett, Mike Hudson, Jack Mitchell, Roger Hudson, Bill Lee, and Richard Gentry. Honorary pallbearers are, Clark Maples, Braden Lee, Gerald Lee, and Matt Murfree.
Family will receive friends Friday, September 19, 2008 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Judy and Phyllis with Dr. Gian's office; Lisa, Christy, and Heidi from Alive Hospice and to the family and friends for all the calls, cards, food, and visits.
Memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice, American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association.
