Riley Hayes, 79, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Hayes was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He was of the Baptist faith and retired as an Allied security guard at Heritage Farms.
Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Vivian Armstrong Hayes, sisters, Mary Haynes, Jo Thomas; brother, Herman Hayes; daughters, Vickie Lynn Hayes, and Sherry Zahn. He is survived by his wife, Helen Hayes of Murfreesboro; children, Kathy Nicholson of Murfreesboro; Carol (Gary) Ryan of Des Plains, IL; Judy Carol (John) McMahan of Murfreesboro; Terisia (Stan) Mallard of Murfreesboro; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucille Delbridge of Murfreesboro.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Dwight Smitty officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden.
