Mr. Locke was a great man that lied his students. Sometimes that was tough love but love just the same. I’m not sure they make men like that anymore. Save me a seat in the back row. Prayers for your family, you will be missed.

Keith, I was sorry to hear that Mr. Locke had passed away. Words can't express the way I felt about your dad. I knew that he really cared about me as a student and had my best interest at heart. I got the chance to run into your dad late last year...and it was just like old times. I'm glad to have known your father. He was a real man and a great example of how to carry yourself as a man!

My family and I are praying for the entire Locke Family, he was one of a kind and will REALLY be missed. He was the first teacher to pull me aside and actually ask if I was thinking about my future. He made a huge impact on my life and was always there for any student that wanted to be helped....a wonderful role model for young men.

Mr. Locke, you will forever be missed. I loved having your class at McGavock, you were a teacher that inspired others. I will miss looking for you at the Nashville airport when I would come home to visit my family. Last of all, I will miss your precious laugh and beautiful smile.

Mr. Locke was one of my favorites! He was so good to me and was "real" with us all. He was one of the few teachers that I kept in contact with through the years. He put together a Black History play and asked me, in my senior year at McGavock to choose and coordinate the music. Because of this, we worked closely together for several months in planning and then in rehearsals. We performed the play at school, for all social studies teachers in Metro during inservice and at a church in Jackson Homes. I loved my time working with and for him. My memories of him are dear to me. I am so sorry for your loss and thankful that he has been in my life. He blessed many, many of our lives.
