James Edward Ramsey Jr., 80 of Murfreesboro passed away Monday, August 24, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Ramsey was born in Nashville to the late James Edward Ramsey Sr. and Ada Clark Ramsey. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church and member of the Easter Star Claiborne Lodge #144 and Claiborne Lodge # 293.
Mr. Ramsey was preceded by his parents, brothers, Oscar Ramsey, Howard Ramsey, sisters, Annie Mae Ramsey Jennings, Ruth Elizabeth Ramsey Smith, Margaret Evelyn Ramsey Allen and grandson, Joseph Christian Hoehne. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jean Bradshaw Ramsey; son, James Edward (Paula) Ramsey III of McMinnville; daughter, Leigh Ann Ramsey (Joe) Tilley of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Melinda Dianne Ramsey Martin; James Edward Ramsey IV, Donald Lee Ramsey, Heather Marie Tilley Wilson, Tiffany Denese Tilley; great-grandchildren, Matthew S. Martin, Bailey Milan Martin, James Edward Ramsey V, Samantha Lee Ramsey, Mark Randall "Trey" Wilson III; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 1:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Curt Waggoner and Bro. John Upchurch officiating. Burial to follow at Hermitage Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers family ask for donations be made to Alive Hospice.
