Cornielius Victor Tanis, 81, of Murfreesboro passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital. Mr. Tanis was born in Lansing, Illinois to the late Cornielius and Gertrude Tanis. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Abiding Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Mr. Tanis was preceded in death by his wife Goldie Tanis (Nee) DeYoung and parents. He is survived by his daughters, Susan (William) Keuch of Homer Glen, IL; Debra ( Jesse) Bustamante of Cedar Lake, IN; Carol (Henry) Rouse of Rockvale, TN; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany (Jon) Hyman, Christiana (Jim) Finnen, Aaron Purvis, Patrick Rouse; and Phillip Rouse; 2 great-grandchildren; Joshua and Jacob Hyman; sister, Lorraine Doringer of Laudenbach, Germany; many nieces and nephews.
Private graveside service will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to Abiding Faith Evangelical Lutheran church in Smyrna, TN.
