I first met Walter when he and Shirley and Margie would all come to Hot Springs on vacation. He was the most kind hearted and gentle man I think I have ever known. He and my Aunt Shirley were so happy going places and seeing new things, as Walter loved to travel. I remember how Walter insisted on washing the dishes after meals, and I can still see him standing at my kitchen sink. I will miss him dearly. I'm so sorry for your loss. May God bless you with peace and comfort, Shirley. I love you.

I met Walter through Shirley when they came to visit Margie & Don Hogan. I'm glad I was able to know him. He was a great man. I would have them over dinner and he was always amazed by my Pillsbury Doughboy collection, especially all of the Christmas Tree ornaments. I was very lucky to have known him. He will be missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I worked under Mr. Hillis's supervision for several years at Emerson in the 70's & 80's. He was one of the finest men I ever worked for - "Old School" you might say...not just a boss but a mentor as well. He will be missed by many.

Please accept our condolences for your loss. Walter was a dear friend and associate of my father-in-law, Carl "Bubba" Allen, formerly of Southern States Electric who passed away earlier this year. He spoke of Walter often and had visited with him shortly before his illness and death in March of this year. God bless you and all your family during this time of grief. Sincerely, Kirk Mason, on behalf of all the family of Carl "Bubba" Allen
