Obituary of Christine Smith

Christine Freeze Smith, age 79, of Shady Grove Community, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at River Park Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Coffee County, TN to the late John Rufus Freeze and Bessie Lena Werndli Freeze. She was a member of DAR, Eastern Star, and Summitville Church of Christ. She retired from Carrier Corp and farmed with her late husband in the Shady Grove Community where she was a very active lifelong resident. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Lyndon Smith; brothers and sisters, Jewell Teal, Jessie Mae Taylor, Everett Freeze, Mozalle Vandygriff, Fred Leonard "Pete" Freeze, Ernestine Medley, Dale Freeze, Melvin Freeze, and Clayton Freeze. She is survived by her brothers, John W. "Bill" (Sue) Freeze of Frazier, TN and Ralph (Margie) Freeze of Oak Grove Community; sister, Louise Vandiver of Indianapolis, IN; special brother in law, Oscar Medley of Manchester; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to Summitville Church of Christ. Coffee County Funeral Chapel in charge of local arrangements.
