Obituary of Betty Carolyn Gannon

Betty Carolyn Trotter Gannon passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, October 11, 2015, after a long illness. Born on October 14, 1935 in Paris, TN to parents John Houston (J.H.) Trotter and Mary Elexi Workman Trotter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert E. Gannon, Jr. who passed away December 31, 2004, brothers, Charles, Bobby Lane and Joe Trotter. She is survived by four sons, Randy (Dawn) Gannon of Antioch, David, John and Dean Gannon all of Smyrna; two daughters, Vicki Weaver of Murfreesboro and Janice Dodson of Tullahoma; brother, Tommy (Rita) Trotter of Kansas and sister Catherine Cobb of Nashville. Nine grandchildren, Stephen (Kimberly) Gannon, April Gannon, Ben (Jessica) Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Ray Weaver, Jimmy Gannon, Danny Copass, Anthony (Bethany) Dodson and Amber Gannon. Nine great grandchildren, Oliver Gannon, Joshua, Emily and Miranda Weaver, Matthew Clark, Maison Gannon, Brandon Russell, Kaitlyn Copass and Laylah Gannon She was a longtime member of the Highland Heights Church of Christ in Smyrna and a former owner of Antioch Auto Parts in Antioch. Betty was a sweet, humble, kind person that will be missed and was loved by all that knew her. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her remains rest at Murfreesboro Funeral Home, 145 Innsbrooke Blvd, Murfreesboro, where funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Wayne Cornwell officiating. Internment - Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation Wednesday, 2-8 p.m. and Thursday 2-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's honor to Gentiva Hospice or Highland Heights Church of Christ.
