Obituary of Virginia May Sweat
Virginia May Sweat, age 91, of Murfreesboro, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018at St Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Sweat was born September 4, 1926 in Daviess, KY to the late Harvey and Ethel Boarman Lott. She and her late husband, John M. Sweat, were the owners and operators of Tyler’s Truck Stop in Rockport, IN until 1982. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She lived her life full of enthusiasm, and her joyfulness was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Sweat was preceded in death by her husband John M. Sweat; siblings, Ray Lott, Ernestine Shireman, Mendell Lott, Mary Head, and Catherine Bowlds; granddaughter; Beth Parsley and son-in-law, William Feldhaus.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Feldhaus and Sherry (Randy) Harris; grandchildren, John Parsley, Jennifer (Eric) Viars, and Brandon Harris; four great-grandchildren; Sara Parsley, Nicholas Viars, Evan Viars and Caroline Viars.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00AM until 12:00PM Noon at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 1:00PM Friday at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church. Interment will be Saturday at 1:00PM at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana. Murfreesboro Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sweat family.
