Obituary of Carl Goodwin

Carl E. Goodwin, 81, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Goodwin was born in Cullman, AL to the late Ezra and Margaret Goodwin. He moved to Murfreesboro on July 6, 1967 to open College Volkswagon and was the owner of Goodwin Motors until January 31, 2009. He was a member of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ and a 50 year member of Cullman Masonic Lodge # 421. Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alvin Goodwin, Fred Goodwin, Donald Goodwin; half-brother, Orvis Noneaker; and half-sister, Eva Noneaker. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah Jones Goodwin; daughter, Bambi Goodwin, granddaughter, Terah Turner; grandsons, Michael and Matthew Turner; sister Vera Goodwin (Earl H ) Sadler of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 17, 2009 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Holt and Bro. Charles Mullins officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Check Sadler, Clint Baird, Chris Sadler, Harlin Sadler III, Dan Noneaker, Brent Tipton, and Kyle Ellis. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association.
