Paul Mathis, 66, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, June 08, 2009 at Middle TN Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton County to the late Lee and Estella Mathis. Mr. Mathis was a past Mason, past member of Fayetteville Police Auxiliary and a member of Third Baptist Church.
Mr. Mathis is survived by his wife, Sheila Mathis; sons, Marcus (Shelly) Mathis, Jason (Cindy) Mathis, all of Murfreesboro and Toby (Renee) Mathis of Kansas City, KS; daughters, Melissa (Jeremy) Johnson of Murfreesboro, Tracey (Frank) Scussell of Hilliard, FL and Paula (Roy) Deason of Murfreesboro; 13 grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brother, Murray (Loretta) Mathis of Murfreesboro; sister, Lila (Ray) Arp of Chattanooga.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev. W.D. Thomason and Bro. Barney Rickman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
