Obituary of Peter Zapotocky

Peter Michael Zapotocky, age 91 of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Zapotocky was a native of Binghamton, New York and resident of Murfreesboro for 20 years. While in Binghamton he owned Finch's Market for 23 years while also working with the street department and also was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Zapotocky was a member of the Monday morning Senior Bowling League in Murfreesboro, a member of North Minister Presbyterian Church, the American Legion and an avid fisherman and golfer. Mr. Zapotocky was preceded by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Micahel Zapotocky; brothers, Michael Zapotocky, John Zapotocky, Andrew Zapotocky and George Zapotocky; sister, Sue Shirhall. Mr. Zapotocky is survived by his wife, Sally Zapotocky of Murfreesboro; son, Bill Zapotocky (Sarah) of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Michael Zapotocky (Jennifer) of Murfreesboro and Bryan Zapotocky (Tina) of Christiana; great grandchildren, Vincent Zapotocky, Katie Zapotocky and Willie Zapotocky; sisters, Margaret Starr of Sayre, PA and Julie Korba of Binghamton, NY; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Shannon Goring and David B. Johnson. Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 26, 2007 beginning at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Chaplain Marshall Gupton and Pastor Ricky Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
